Functions of and access to supreme administrative courts

Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia of Hungry, attended a seminar in Berlin held by the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the European Union on 13-14 May 2019.

The seminar was part of a series addressing the process of judicial decision-making. The seminar discussed the functions of and access to supreme administrative courts.

Exciting international legal issues in Heidelberg

Hungarian, Italian and German legal researchers delivered presentations related to the topics of comparative constitutional law and the constitutional framework of the European Union’s tax harmonisation at a tax law seminar held in Germany. The event, which took place on 7-9 May 2019 in Heidelberg, was attended by Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia of Hungary and was co-organised by the Financial and Tax Law Institute of Heidelberg, the University of Heidelberg, the Faculty of Law of ELTE University and the University of Ferrara.

Increasingly stronger professional ties – visit of the delegation of the Ukrainian Supreme Court to the Curia of Hungary

For the purposes of strengthening their bilateral professional and judicial relations, the delegation of the Ukrainian Supreme Court paid an official visit to the Curia of Hungary. Upon invitation from the Curia, the four-member Ukrainian delegation, led by President Ms. Valentyna Danishevska, visited Budapest on 4-6 April 2019.

Single case decision-making in the European Union

Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia of Hungary, participated in a seminar of the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the European Union (ACA-Europe) held in Cologne on 2-4 December 2018.

The seminar, which was the first one of a series discussing the single case decision-making process of administrative courts, focused on issues arising in the first phase of the administrative proceedings (parties, determination of facts, discretionary powers). The discussion of the legal issues will continue in 2019.
