Ladies and Gentlemen, Fellow Judges,
I would like to briefly inform my judge colleagues and the public of the reasons behind an investigation into the journal “Curia Decisions – Court Rulings” (which is known by the short name “BH”) and the findings of this investigation.
First, let me explain the reasons behind the investigation:
At the invitation of the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Pavol Naď, a five-member Curia delegation, led by the President of the Curia of Hungary, paid an official visit to the Slovakian partner institution in Bratislava on 8 February 2024.
The Hungarian and Slovakian delegations exchanged experiences in the management of administrative justice in the framework of a roundtable discussion and shared the best practices of the two courts.
The European Court of Human Rights held a ceremony to mark the official opening of the judicial year and a judicial seminar on 26 January 2024 in Strasbourg. At the event, the Curia of Hungary was represented by President Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga and by Secretary General Dr. Judit Gyarmathy.
At the invitation of the Honourable Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, President of the Supreme People’s Court of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a delegation from the Curia travelled to Hanoi on 20 November for an official visit.
During the three-day professional programme, the delegation, led by Vice-President Dr. Katalin Böszörményiné Kovács, first held talks at the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam, where a memorandum of understanding on judicial cooperation between the institutions was signed.
The Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union held its latest Colloquium and General Assembly on 9-11 November 2023 in Vienna. Upon invitation from Dr. Elisabeth Lovrek, President of the Supreme Court of Austria, Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia and Dr. Judit Gyarmathy, Secretary General of the Curia also attended the event.
