Visit of the Association of European Administrative Judges’ delegation to the Curia

On 11 June 2024, a delegation of the Association of European Administrative Judges (AEAJ), led by its President, Mr. Sylvain Mérenne, paid an official visit to the Curia of Hungary.

During the exchange of views, Dr. Péter Demjén, Judge of the Curia, President of the Association of Hungarian Administrative Judges, gave a summary of the activities and achievements of the Hungarian Association. Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia, welcomed the participants and briefly described the historical development of the adjudication of administrative cases in Hungary.

A delegation of judges from the General Court of the European Union held talks at the Curia

For the first time, an official meeting between the General Court of the European Union and the Curia of Hungary took place on 23 May 2024. The international delegation was led by Dr. Savvas S. Papasavvas, Vice-President of the General Court, and included Dr. Jesper Svenningsen, Chamber President, as well as Dr. Pēteris Zilgalvis and Dr. Tihamér Tóth, Judges of the General Court. Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia, and several Curia judges received the delegation in the Mailáth Hall of the Hungarian supreme judicial forum.

Jubilee conference at the Court of Justice of the European Union

Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary and Dr. Judit Gyarmathy, Secretary General of the Curia of Hungary participated, on 3 May 2024, at the jubilee conference of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg. The event commemorated the 20th anniversary of the accession of ten Member States, including Hungary, to the European Union.

The President of the Court of Justice of the European Union was the guest of the Curia of Hungary

Upon invitation from Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary, Prof. Dr. Koen Lenaerts, President of the Court of Justice of the European Union, paid an official visit, on 12 April 2024, to the Curia of Hungary to participate at a professional conference and subsequently an informal roundtable discussion.
