At the invitation of the President of the Curia, the delegation of the Polish Supreme Court paid an official visit to Budapest on 27-29 April 2016. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. hab. Małgorzata Gersdorf, First President of the Supreme Court of Poland.

The invitees held discussions with the court leaders of the Curia, visited the National Office for the Judiciary to meet Office President Ms. Tünde Handó, and, in addition, paid a visit to the Metropolitan High Court to pursue discussions with High Court President Mr. Sándor Fazekas.

Prof. Dr. Aharon Barak, former President of the Supreme Court of the State of Israel, professor at Yale Law School, Georgetown University Law Center, University of Toronto Faculty of Law and Central-European University delivered a lecture for Curia judges on “Judicial discretion” on 26 April 2016 in the building of the Curia.

On 18-21 April 2016, the Curia’s delegation paid official visits to Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem. As part of its prescheduled programme, the Hungarian delegation led by Mr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia met Ms. Miriam Naor, President of the Israeli Supreme Court, Ms. Ayelet Shaked, Justice Minister of the State of Israel and Mr. Eyal Inon, the Knesset’s legal advisor.

Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia delivered a lecture on the change of the concept of property and on the trends and novelties of property law on the occasion of an international conference held at Széchenyi István University in the town of Győr on 23 February 2016.

Mr. Péter DARÁK, President of the Curia of Hungary convoked the Plenary Session of Curia judges on the 18th of January 2016 to commemorate the 190th anniversary of the birth of famous Hungarian jurist Mr. Károly CSEMEGI who drafted Hungary’s first Criminal Code.
