Carpathian Basin Constitutional Court Conference in Háromszék (Trei Scaune) County

With the purpose of establishing a tradition, the first Carpathian Basin Constitutional Court Conference was held on 21 May 2022 in Sepsiszentgyörgy (Sfântu Gheorghe), Transylvania, with the participation of nine constitutional court judges from four countries. The event was also attended by Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary and Dr András Patyi, Vice-President of the Curia of Hungary.

Visit of the delegation of Slovenian prosecutors at the Curia of Hungary

A nineteen-member delegation of the Specialised State Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Slovenia made a study visit to Hungary, their visit was organised by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Hungary. The Slovenian delegation was received on 13 May 2022 by Dr. Katalin Böszörményiné Kovács, Vice-President of the Curia of Hungary, Dr. Zsolt Csák, Head of the Criminal Chamber of the Curia of Hungary, Dr. Lipót Höltzl, Head of the International Department of the Curia of Hungary and Gabriella Répási, Head of the Communications Department of the Curia of Hungary.

Central and Eastern European Moot Court Competition at the Curia of Hungary

The 2022 Budapest Central and Eastern European Moot Court Competition was co-hosted by the Curia of Hungary and the 7-8 May competition rounds were held in the courtrooms of the supreme judicial forum of Hungary.

The Central and Eastern European Moot Court Competition was founded in 1994 by the British Law Centre with a view to enabling teams of law students to develop mooting and presentational skills in a simulated EU court forum where they are judged by EU experts.

The meeting of the Presidents of the Supreme Courts of the EU Member States in Stockholm

“Open Data and Artificial Intelligence” was the title of a conference organised by the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union in Stockholm between 5-7 May 2022. The meeting, attended by Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary and Dr. Judit Gyarmathy, Secretary General of the Curia of Hungary, was hosted by the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Sweden.

Visit of the representatives of foreign election monitoring organisations at the Curia

It was the fourth time during the year 2022 that the representatives of foreign election monitoring organisations visited the Curia of Hungary. The most recent delegation was received by Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary, the Curia’s Vice-President responsible for ensuring uniform jurisprudence, the Deputy Head of the Curia’s Administrative Chamber and the Head of the Curia’s International Department on 31 March 2022.
