Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia participated at the European Court of Human Rights’ solemn hearing for the opening of the judicial year and a preceding seminar on 26 January 2018 in Strasbourg.
The seminar was attended by many prominent representatives of the European countries’ judicial systems, including Supreme Court presidents and Constitutional Court presidents, and focused on the topic of “The Authority of the Judiciary”.
At the seminar, speeches were delivered by Mr. Guido Raimondi, President of the Court and by Mr. Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
At the solemn hearing following the seminar, the President of the Court and Mr. Koen Lenaerts, President of the Court of Justice of the European Union addressed the participants.
