Public session to be held by the Curia of Hungary on the criminal case related to the ship collision on the Danube

Pursuant to a motion for remedy filed by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the lawfulness of the placement of the Viking Sigyn ship captain under criminal supervision (case no. Bt. 750/2019) will be examined by the Curia of Hungary in a public session to be held on 29 July 2019 at 9.00 am (address: 1055 Budapest, Markó utca 16.). At the session a decision is expected to be given on the issue.

In its motion, the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested the Curia of Hungary to establish the unlawfulness of the district court and high court decisions accepting the defence counsel’s motion for bail and ordering the defendant’s placement under criminal supervision after depositing the bail.

Due to the limited space in the courtroom, attendance by members of the press is subject to prior registration.
