Upon invitation from Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary, the Honorable Mr. Aslambek Mergaliyev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and his two-member delegation paid an official visit to Budapest between 28 and 31 October 2025.
The consultations covered a wide range of topics: the leaders of the Curia and the members of the Kazakh Chief Justice’s delegation discussed, among others, the functioning of the Curia and the Kazakh Supreme Court, the Hungarian limited precedent system and the application of tools for the uniformization of judicial practice in the Kazakh justice system, as well as issues related to the digitalization of the justice system and the use of artificial intelligence. The Kazakh Chief Justice also presented the recent comprehensive reform measures within the Kazakh judicial system.
The Kazakh delegation also exchanged experience at the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Regional Appellate Court of Budapest, and the Hungarian Judicial Academy.
