The President of the Curia and the President of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China Held Talks at a Video Conference

On 21 June 2023, Zhang Jun, President of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China, and his delegation held talks with Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia, and leaders of Hungary’s supreme judicial forum at a video conference.
The online meeting’s participants presented the structure, operations, and powers of the court system and the supreme judicial forum of their countries, as well as the mechanisms for the uniformity of their national courts’ case-law. The Hungarian and Chinese Chief Justices briefly analyzed the special features of their court systems, touching upon their similarities and differences.
The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Budapest and the Ambassador of Hungary to the People’s Republic of China in Beijing also attended and addressed the video conference.
The virtual meeting is regarded by the participants as a first step toward strategic cooperation between the two countries' supreme judicial forums.
