Between 15 and 20 September 2015, Mr. Bui Ngoc Hoa, Vice-President of the Supreme People’s Court of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and his delegation paid an official visit to Hungary on the basis of a cooperation agreement concluded between the highest instance judicial forums of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Hungary.
During the discussions held in the premises of the Curia, the members of the Vietnamese delegation reported that the transformation of their legal system and the establishment of a four-tier court system in their county relied extensively on the Hungarian legal and judicial structure.
As part of the Vietnamese judicial reforms, the tasks and competencies of the Supreme People’s Court have fundamentally changed recently, as a result of which the Vietnamese supreme judicial body has been entrusted with the main task of ensuring the uniform application of law. In order to better perform its new duties, the Supreme People’s Court requested the Curia to share the experience gained from ensuring the uniform application of law in Hungary.
During their stay in Hungary, the members of the Vietnamese delegation met and conducted negotiations with the representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor General and the High Court of Veszprém, and they were also given the opportunity to visit the Parliament and the High Court of Budapest.
