The Curia of Hungary was consulted by the European Commission’s representatives on the Rule of Law Report

Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary, the Curia’s Vice-Presidents and Secretary General, the representatives of the Curia’s chambers as well as the Director of the Curia’s Werbőczy Research Institute and the Head of the Curia’s International Department were engaged, in the afternoon of 6 February 2023, in an online consultation with the European Commission’s representatives for the preparation of the country chapter on Hungary of the European Commission’s 2023 Rule of Law Report, within the framework of the Commission’s virtual country visit this year.

During the consultation, the President of the Curia provided information, based on a number of written questions previously formulated by the European Commission, on the planned judicial reforms affecting the work of the supreme judicial forum, as well as on possible further amendments to the Curia’s case allocation order and to the rules governing the Curia’s functioning.
