The Curia of Hungary was consulted by the European Commission’s representatives on the Rule of Law Report

Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary, and the Curia’s Vice-Presidents, Secretary General, Heads of Chambers as well as the Head of the Curia’s International Department were engaged, in the afternoon of 1 March 2022, in an online consultation with the European Commission’s representatives on the country chapter on Hungary of the European Commission’s 2022 Rule of Law Report.

During the consultation, the Curia’s managers answered orally the preliminary questions of the European Commission which had already been formulated in writing. The answers touching upon the modified system of the uniformity procedure and uniformity complaint procedure, the Curia’s case allocation order, the Curia’s tasks in respect of the upcoming general elections in Hungary, the role of the Curia’s Judicial Council and the various elements of the legal aid regime that can be provided for non-governmental organisations can be read here.
