At the invitation of Dr. hab. Małgorzata Manowska, First President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Poland, Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia and Dr. Judit Gyarmathy, Secretary General of the Curia attended the V4 Conference of Supreme Court Presidents in Baranów Sandomierski on 23-24 April 2025.
During the conference on “The importance of modern technology for the legal proceedings and administrative activity of the courts”, the President of the Curia has stressed that the judicial IT developments carried out in Hungary nowadays has led to very good results, even by international standards. The European Commission’s Judicial Scoreboard confirms that the Hungarian judiciary maintains its leading position in this field, with Hungarian judges having a wider use of digital solutions than the average in EU Member States. In respect of the Curia, he has told that the electronic case allocation mechanism of the supreme judicial forum, characterised by the principles of automation, transparency and accessibility, is exemplary. Under the Curia’s case allocation system, which is unique in Europe and fulfills the criteria of the rule of law, it is possible to check which panel will proceed and what will be the exact composition of that panel, it can be done not only in general, but also at the level of an individual case.
