A four-member delegation of the Venice Commission, led by Mr. Iain Cameron, Professor at the University of Uppsala in Sweden, was received on 29 August 2025 by Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary.

The delegation of the Venice Commission sought to conduct a preliminary examination of a number of new provisions forming part of the Fifteenth Amendment to the Fundamental Law, which entered into force on 15 April 2025, with a view to issuing an opinion thereon at a later stage. The main topics of the meeting included the following: restrictions on the right of assembly in order to protect the rights of children, the right of children to a self-identity corresponding to their sex at birth, the protection of marriage, family and the relationship between parents and children by the Fundamental Law, and the right to self-identity of local communities.

The President of the Curia informed the delegation of the Venice Commission about the relevant case-law of the supreme judicial forum.
