Upon invitation from Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President of the Curia of Hungary, the Executive Vice President of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Deng Xiuming and his five-member delegation paid an official visit to Budapest between 15 and 17 June 2025.
The consultations covered a wide range of topics: the Curia’s leaders and the judges representing different levels of the Chinese court system discussed, among others, the functioning of the Curia and of the Chinese Supreme People’s Court, the Hungarian limited precedent system and the corresponding elements in the case-law of the Chinese superior courts, as well as the digitalization of the judiciary and the application of artificial intelligence in the judicial field.
The Chinese delegation also exchanged experience at the High Court of Budapest, the Hungarian Judicial Academy and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
