The Court of Justice of the European Union hosted the “Forum of Judges” conference in Luxembourg on 8-10 March 2026, which was attended by a four-member Curia delegation led by President Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga. The delegation members were Dr. Judit Gyarmathy, Secretary General of the Curia; Dr. Marianna Csilla Idzigné Novák, Deputy Secretary General of the Curia; and Dr. Zsuzsanna Véghné Szabó, Judge of the Civil Chamber of the Curia.
The participants of the forum reviewed the origins, development, and future prospects of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, and discussed the link between the Charter and EU values as well as the issues related to applicability of the Charter in the national legal orders. The conference also addressed in depth the topics of the right to effective judicial protection, the right to privacy, and restrictive measures and fundamental rights.
The members of the Curia delegation also attended an event organized by the Luxembourg Office of the Embassy of Hungary in Brussels to celebrate the March 15 national holiday.
