Date: 12 May 2026
The Curia of Hungary held a two-day Full Bench on 4 and 11 May 2026. A report by the President of the Curia on the supreme judicial forum’s 2025 activities, a report by the President of the Judicial Council on the Judicial Council’s activities in 2025, proposals for the election of members of the service courts, and the presentation of awards in recognition of service were among the agenda items.
By following its traditions, the Curia presented, during the Full Bench, certificates to judges who were celebrating the anniversary of their service and to colleagues who would retire.
The Full Bench on 11 May 2026 was honoured by the presence of Prof. Dr. Andreas Korbmacher, President of the Federal Administrative Court of Germany, who is about to retire and to whom the President of the Curia awarded the “AMICUS CURIAE” commemorative medal. The President of the Curia created this award in 2013 to recognize and honour individuals who help the work of the Curia and engage in outstanding activities aimed at developing the Hungarian legal system and the Hungarian justice system. In addition to recognizing President Korbmacher’s dedicated work in the interest of the Curia, the award also symbolizes the enduring partnership and professional relationship between the courts.
