On 11 October 2022, the President of the Curia received the visit of a Council of Europe delegation of experts from the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. The delegation was led by Christophe Poirel, Director of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe, and included as members Patrick Schäfer, Head of the Hungarian Section of the Department for the Execution of Judgments and Lilla Vukovich, officer of the Hungarian Section of the Department.
On behalf of the Curia of Hungary Prof. Dr. András Zs. Varga, President, Prof. Dr. András Patyi, Vice-President in charge of tasks related to ensuring uniform jurisprudence, Dr. Zsolt Csák, Head of the Criminal Chamber, Dr. Árpád Orosz, Head of the Civil Chamber, Dr. Péter Hajnal, Deputy Head of the Administrative Chamber, and Dr. Lipót Höltzl, Head of the International Department participated in the meeting.
The participants discussed issues related to the execution of ECtHR judgments in Hungary and possible solutions to the execution of certain judgments in respect of Hungary, pending before the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The Strasbourg experts were provided with detailed information on the relevant provisions of Hungarian criminal, civil and administrative law, as well as on the relevant jurisprudence of the Curia of Hungary.
