The CEELI (Central and Eastern European Law Initiative) Institute, the coordinating body of the Conference of Chief Justices of Central and Eastern Europe, has – this year – invited the Chief Justices of Central and Eastern Europe and their representatives to an online meeting.
The main purpose of the 17 October online meeting was to discuss the future of the conference series and to outline possible cost-cutting solutions for the organisers. In the second half of the meeting, the participants analysed the issues of independence and ethical responsibility of judges and the ways in which courts interact with the media by studying a hypothetical case.
