The role of courts and public prosecutor’s offices in suppressing international terrorism and illegal migration

Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia of Hungary, attended an international conference on terrorism and illegal migration, held with the participation of chief justices and chief public prosecutors on 24-26 June in Budva, Montenegro.

The conference, which was hosted by the Supreme Court of Montenegro and was attended by chief justices and chief public prosecutors from eighteen countries of Central and Southern Europe and Asia, discussed criminal justice protection and mechanisms for fight against terrorism and illegal migrations, international terrorism, the need for cooperation in rapid exchange of information, the challenges for sound investigations and mutual legal assistance, international cooperation, best practices and experiences as well as the legal and ethical issues relating to illegal migration and financing of terrorist activities.
