Official visit of the delegation of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China to the Curia of Hungary

A five-member Chinese judicial delegation led by Mr. Li Shaoping, Vice-President of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China paid an official visit to the Curia between 8 and 12 July 2015 on the invitation of Hungarian Chief Justice Dr. Péter Darák. The Chinese delegation met and held discussions with the judicial leaders of the Curia, visited the National Office for the Judiciary and met the presidents of the Budapest Surroundings High Court and the District Court of Szentendre. During the discussions, the Chinese delegation placed particular emphasis on issues related to the economic and societal changes that had an impact on the independence of the judiciary and the courts in their country, and presented the related organisational reforms within the Chinese judiciary. In the context of the further development of China’s state organisations, the delegation members attached paramount importance to the relevant experience gained from their visit and to the professional dialogue between the supreme judicial bodies of the two countries.
